Memory 5:
☑ Scolding Goku. "Sometimes we need to think before we run with our emotions."
Source: Saiyuki v7ch39: "Critical day," pages 16-18.
Highlights:
- He was with Goku, but where were they?
- Goku panicking and wanting to return to where Sanzo was (Gojyo was with Sanzo, supposedly)
- Sort of scolding/lecturing/advising Goku
- Goku saying Hakkai was always kind, so speaking to him like that made him happy even though it was "a little weird"
- FINALLY calling everyone by their names
This memory was nice. He really likes Goku! He would like to work out some of his own issues before reaching out, though; after all he's remembered, he respects Goku very much.
Memory 6:
☑ The Ikkou caught a cold. “Ahahahahahahahahahahaha.”
Source: Saiyuki Reload: "Cold."
Highlights:
- They all caught Goku's cold because they were "always traveling together."
- ...He is not very coherent when he's sick. OR IS HE
- They were attacked by youkai who wanted Sanzo's sutra. And it looked like they were attacked very often? Often enough not to even take it seriously, anyway
- He is the one who drives! For some reason
- ...TMI about everyone's symptoms. TMI.
- +15* KNOWLEDGE OF IKKOU DYNAMICS. His recollection of memories where he apologizes to people "on behalf of the others" has now officially taken on a very different meaning than the one he initially gave to it |D.

MORE THOUGHTS ON STUFF
Plot points needed for him to be forced to feel strongly about non trivial or principle-related stuff. So I'm looking forward to the next trauma game /o/.
Other than that, Hakkai has been coming to terms with his, er, lack of capacity to care and have sympathy for most people. He was fighting this about himself because of the mass murder+pointlessness+first trauma game combo, but lately he's been able to acknowledge some more nuances in his own sense of self-worth and self-esteem, and this seems to be helping him become colder but also more confident. He IS still fighting it, but I have faith in that he'll realize it's completely pointless after something big happens, and stop waffling. Go small heart go!
He's also started to slip back into certain behavior patterns that... don't work, because he's not being quite himself yet. Still that form vs. substance thing. He thinks he should have learned from his trauma memories, but he can't help the way he feels, and he's not sure how his memories should have changed him. This is also the reason why he hasn't approached Sanzo. After all, Sanzo was the one who believed in him and became his supervisor in the first place so he could be free again. yet he still wonders whether he wouldn't do something like what he did again if that kind of situation happened again... And this still troubles him. Basically, he's still second-guessing himself because of his incomplete memories and lack of enough context.
So, yeah. FUN TIMES AHEAD.
